For authors

Submission guidelines

We welcome unpublished manuscripts in urban anthropology and closely related fields, in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.

What we accept

Original articles (6,000–9,000 words), thematic dossier proposals, Cir-kula essays (3,000–5,000 words), translations, and interview transcripts. All submissions must be previously unpublished and not under review elsewhere.

Review process

Manuscripts first undergo an editorial desk check, then double-blind peer review by two specialists in the relevant subfield. Typical turnaround from submission to first decision is 10–14 weeks.

Formatting

Manuscripts should be submitted as an anonymized document with a separate title page, following ABNT or APA referencing consistently throughout. Include an abstract (up to 150 words) and five keywords in both the manuscript's language and English.

Ethics

Fieldwork involving human participants must comply with the ethical standards of the author's home institution, and manuscripts should describe consent procedures where relevant.

How to submit

Send your manuscript and title page as PDF or DOCX attachments to the editorial email listed on our contact page, with the subject line "Submission — [section] — [short title]".
